The Chronic Illness Dictionary: Flare

Image

Flare – n. An exasperation of current illness that totally gets in the way of anything you had planned on doing at that point in time, often causing pain, fatigue, and a great deal of aggravation. As in, I had a fibro flare this weekend, and instead of straightening the house, working out, going to church and small group, I slept for two days, only waking long enough to eat and drink and take some advil for the pain.
